Nitrosoft is not a real company, and this website is a piece of fiction: it is part of NetGodz, a game, and nothing described or offered anywhere on it is real.
There are no cyberdecks. There is no NX range, no Hotfloor runtime, no benchmark suite and no service department. Every specification, chart, benchmark figure, price in credits, release date, error code, known-issue reference and staff count on this site was invented for the game. Nothing is for sale, no order can be placed, and no goods will ship.
“Credits” are an invented in-game currency. They cannot be bought, earned, exchanged or redeemed, and they are not money. This site does not and will not take payment of any kind: there is no checkout, no card field, no invoice and no payment processor anywhere on it.
Cybrscape, mentioned throughout as a competitor, is also a fictional company within the same game. The comparative figures attributed to it are invented, as is the company. Nothing on this site refers to, describes, or is intended to resemble any real company, product, person, publication or benchmark organisation.
The rest of this page is written in character, as part of the game. Read it as fiction, because that is all it is.
1. What these terms cover
These terms govern the supply of Nitrosoft hardware and the Hotfloor runtime to a yard holding an active supply account. They are the whole agreement between us and they replace anything a salesperson told you.
2. Ordering and settlement
Orders are raised by a yard’s supply desk against a deck code and a quantity. We do not sell to individuals, we do not operate personal accounts, and we do not take card details at any point in the process. Credits settle on the yard account on despatch. A quote is valid for fourteen days and states the credit figure in full; there are no fees that appear later.
3. Published figures
Every performance figure we publish is the median of twelve measured runs under the conditions set out on the benchmarks page. We do not warrant that your resident set will fold at the ratio quoted: the ratio is a property of your warez, not only of our hardware, and a set of genuinely unique residents will fold at approximately 1.08× on any deck we make. The budget linter in the SDK exists so that you can establish your own figure before you rely on ours.
Figures attributed to other manufacturers are our own measurements of retail units, are labelled as such wherever they appear, and are not those manufacturers’ specifications. We publish the method so that they can be disputed.
4. Warranty
Twelve months from despatch, parts and labour, no registration required. A deck that is dead on arrival is swapped rather than repaired. The warranty is void where a thermal override has been applied, where the fold table has been modified, or where the unit has been exposed to liquid. Opening the enclosure does not void it.
5. Firmware and the runtime
Firmware is licensed with the deck, for use on that deck, for as long as you own it. There is no automatic update: a deck’s behaviour does not change unless you install something. We support the current and previous minor version of the runtime and give two minors’ notice, never less than nine months, before an ABI change takes effect.
6. The SDK
The Hotfloor SDK is supplied free, with no account and no key. It collects nothing and transmits nothing. Signing keys you generate with it are yours alone; we never hold them and cannot recover them. You may redistribute the benchmark harness and its profiles unmodified, and we would prefer that you did.
7. What we will not do
We will not quote a figure for hardware we have not measured ourselves, we will not publish a peak-burst number without the sustained number beside it, and we will not accept an out-of-warranty repair for a generation whose parts are gone. In that last case the unit is returned unopened and no credits are taken.
8. Limits
Our liability for any single order is limited to the credits settled on it. We are not liable for a cache lost to an eviction you configured, for a trace raised by a resident you wrote, or for work performed on a deck running a modified fold table.
9. Changes
We date this page when it changes and we do not change it retroactively. The terms that apply to an order are the terms published on the date the quote was raised.
